1.0 Introduction 2.0 Installation Notes 3.0 Windows NT OpenGL Driver Information. 4.0 ATI Contact Information n40118en.exe May 1998 ************************************************** 1.0 Introduction This is release 5.1.118 of the ATI Windows NT 4.0 driver with OpenGL support for 3D RAGE PRO. ************************************************* NOTE: The display driver included in this package may be used with ATI products based on the RAGE PRO chipset, in either PCI or AGP configurations. That includes the XPERT@WORK, XPERT@PLAY, XPERTXL and ALL-IN-WONDER PRO. The display driver bundled in the n40118en package is the same version as found on ATI INSTALLATION CD-ROM marked "ATI Software Release 5.11". This display driver bundle supports the following languages; - English This file is a self-extracting file which will install the Windows NT OpenGL display driver installation files into C:\ATI\SUPPORT\n40118en\ on your hard drive. The files may be copied to a floppy disk if necessary for installation purposes. *************************************************** 2.0 Installation Notes USING n40118en.exe 1 You must download n40118en.exe and save it to a directory on your systems hard disk. For example C:\temp is a common directory used to initially save a file into. 2 Once you have downloaded n40118en, close all programs, click the Start button and select the RUN menu item. Click the Browse button. Browse to the directory where n40118en.exe was saved. Select n40118en and click OK to run the program. 3 Follow the instructions on the screen. ! The ATI DISPLAY DRIVER files will be unpacked to your hard disk. NOTE: It is possible to direct the files to a USER SELECTED destination on FLOPPY DISK or to a HARD DISK other than C:. DISPLAY DRIVER installation instructions after running n40118en. 1. Run the Windows NT Display program located in the Control Panel, under "Settings" in the Start menu. Alternatively, position the cursor on the background of the desktop, click the right mouse button, then select "Properties" from the popup menu. 2. Select the "Settings" page. 3. Select "Display Type...". 4. Select "Change..." from the display options. 5. Select "Have Disk..." 6. NT will prompt you for the correct path, enter C:\ATI\SUPPORT\n40118en. Confirm that ATI.INF is selected and click "OK" twice. 7. A list of ATI graphics accelerators will be displayed. Select the card you are using, then click on the "OK" button. 8. Windows NT will once again prompt for confirmation. All appropriate files are then copied to your Windows directory. 9. Restart Windows NT. Windows NT will start up using the new drivers. 10. NT will boot into a default mode and start the Display applet allowing for mode selection. After successfully installing the driver, you can delete the contents of the directory C:\ATI\SUPPORT\n40118en using the 'Remove ATI Temporary Files' icon.
