1.0     Introduction

This release of the ATI Video Player is designed for use with the 
following ATI products and the ATI-TV TUNER.   
	
     ALL IN WONDER
     3D PRO TURBO and 3D PRO TURBO PC2TV
     3D XPRESSION+ and 3D XPRESSION+ PC2TV
     3D CHARGER
     3D XPRESSION
     VIDEO XPRESSION+ and VIDEO XPRESSION
     All other 3D RAGE II+, 3D RAGE II, 3D RAGE and VT based ATI 
     products.

If your ATI product came pre-installed in a complete system, you may
already have a special driver version installed (eg. IBM, AST, Gateway,
NEC, Sony).  ATI graphic chips are implimented on many 3rd party
products.  You should contact your system integrator for drivers certified
for use with your system, especially if the ATI chip is incorporated on
the motherboard.  

Prior to installing this version of the ATI Video Player, 

    -Previous versions of the ATI Player MUST be uninstalled.
     The ATI SETUP program included with the previous version of the
     ATI Video Player can be used to uninstall the software.

    -Windows 3.1x MUST BE CONFIGURED for the ATI v3.098 Windows 3.1X
     Display Driver.
    
    -Windows 3.1X MUST have Video for Windows 1.1e installed.  
     Video for Windows 1.1e is available from all ATI download sites.
     Download VFW11E.ZIP.  PKUNZIP v2.04g is required to UNZIP this file.

2.0	System Requirements

This product requires a mach64 PCI or VLB graphics accelerator. ISA 
cards and VLB cards with the aperture disabled will not be supported. 
The minimum recommended system is a Pentium with a double speed CD ROM
and Windows 3.1x.

Windows 3.1X must be configured with the v3.098 display driver before
installing the ATI Player.

3.0	Installation Notes

To uncompress W31PLY31.EXE and install the ATI Player use the following
procedure.

1.  Start Windows.

2.  Install version 3.098 of the Windows 3.1X Display Driver.

3.  Install Video for Windows 1.1e if it is not already installed.

4.  Use File Manager to select W31PLY31.EXE.

5.  Follow the instructions displayed to uncompress the installation
    files into C:\ATI\SUPPORT\ATIPLAY.

6.  The ATI SETUP utility will be run from C:\ATI\SUPPORT\ATIPLAY.

7.  Follow the instructions displayed in ATI SETUP.  

8.  Restart the computer to run Windows 3.1X using this new driver.
 
After successfully installing the ATI Player, you can delete the contents of
the directory C:\ATI\SUPPORT\ATIPLAY using the 'Remove ATI Player
Temp Files' icon.

We recommend that you keep a copy of W31PLY31.EXE, in case you need to
install the ATI Player again.
