Problem With Capturing Video With A Video Blaster RT300 And Sound Blaster 16 PnP Card

Problem:

You may faced a problem of not getting your Video Blaster RT300 to work with Creative PnP sound card. You may encounter an error that you are able to capture any video in Adobe Premiere. Symptoms that you may faced are no video display or system response is very slow when the Sound Blaster PnP card is installed.

Cause:

The default factory settings for VB RT300 are I/O address 2E4H and IRQ 10. For any of the SB16/32 PnP cards the default factory settings for the IDE port are I/O address 168H and IRQ 10. As IDE port default settings of PnP sound card uses IRQ 10, it causes an IRQ conflict with the VB RT300 which also uses IRQ 10 as the default.

Solution:

To resolve this problem you would have to either change the IRQ setting in the SB16/32 or VB RT300 so that both uses different IRQs.
