Web Phone

WebPhone is the professional real-time Internet telephone which lets you talk as a conventional telephone over the Internet without the cost burden of a long distance calls. Wherever a person may be in the world, so long as he is on the Internet, you will be able to talk to him for the cost of your connection to your local Internet service provider.

Unlike many other Internet telephone products, which utilizes Internet Relay Chat (IRC) for connection and address only the limited needs of Internet hobbyists, WebPhone provides highly-reliable, secure, point-to-point connections and advanced features for both business and casual users. It enables you to call anyone who has a WebPhone by using the IP address or email address of the party you wish to call. WebPhone employs a patent-pending point-to-point calling mechanism which allows you to call SLIP/PPP dial-up users with just their email address. Once connected, WebPhone transmits speech in real-time directly between the calling parties.

WebPhone employs GSM compression on audio input from a sound card. It is Internet green in that it does not transmit silence. All audio transmission is encrypted with a proprietary algorithm to provide you with secure conversation. It provides full-duplex voice communication when used with a Windows compatible sound card which supports full duplex driver, e.g. Creative Labs Sound Blaster 16.

WebPhone is also equipped with many added features we come to expect from today’s professional telephone system such as voice mail, phone directory, speed dial and last party redial. To provide for caller identification, each party’s WebPhone displays the other party’s full name and email or IP address during the call.
