February 27th 1996, Creative Labs, the leading provider of multimedia products for the PC, has launched a new range of Plug and Play soundcards aimed at all levels of gamers and multimedia enthusiasts.

The new range includes Sound Blaster 16 PnP, Sound Blaster 32 PnP and the award winning AWE32 PnP. The RRP is £79.00, £129.00 and £199.00 respectively.

"With the launch of our new range of cards, we are continuing to enhance the Sound Blaster standard," said Mandy Birtles, Creative Labs UK marketing manager . "Coupled with Plug and Play, the cards are an even more attractive product for consumers as they are easy to install and give the user realistic audio for entertainment."

The Sound Blaster 16 PnP features a built in CD-ROM interface and expansion connector for Wave Blaster. It incorporates 8- and 16- bit CD quality stereo sampling and playback up to 44.1kHz, an enhanced 4 operator, 20 voice, stereo FM synthesizer and seven DOS and Windows utilities.

Sound Blaster 32 PnP features EMU8000-based professional 32-voice wave table music synthesis, special effects such as reverb, chorus and panning, 3D stereo enhancement.

The Sound Blaster AWE32 PnP card features Creative's Advanced Wave Effects wave- table synthesis for hundreds of real instrument sounds and effects, 3D Spatialised Audio for true 3D audio in multimedia applications that support 3D technology, Surround Stereo Enhancement Technology for a clearer, more spacious sound, Support for ATAPI-compliant IDE CD-ROM drives.

It also incorporates software and drivers for MS-DOS/Windows 3.1 and Windows 95- based systems, E-mu Systems' Sound Font technology that allows new instruments and sounds to be added to the card.
