"The File C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\MSCOMM.VBX Is Out Of Date" Error When Using Ancilla

Problem:

When using Ancilla, the following error message occurs:

The file C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\MSCOMM.VBX is out of date

Solution:

Ancilla installs MSCOMM.VBX dated 4/28/93, 12:00am. The above error message occurs if there is an older or newer version of this driver on the system. Windows for Workgroup supplies a newer version of the MSCOMM.VBX driver.

To rectify the problem, follow the procedures below:

Rename the MSCOMM.VBX driver on the system. For example, change to the \WINDOWS\SYSTEM\ directory and type REN MSCOMM.VBX MSCOMM.BAK
Reinstall the Ancilla sotware.
