Sound Blaster 16 (CT2950) Cannot Be Configured By ICU On A Compaq Prolinea 'E' Series PC

Problem:

When installing a SB16 PnP (CT2950) card into a Compaq Prolinea E Series computer, the sound card is not recognized by ICU or it will lose it settings after being configured by ICU.

Solution:

Compaq has written a device driver to help ICU properly configure a Sound Blaster 16 PnP (CT2950). The Softpac provided by Compaq is composed of two files CPQSB16.SYS and CPQSB16.EXE. Both of the files support command line parameters to allow the card to be set to any of its possible settings. These parameters and a detailed instruction set are included in the documentation that accompanies the driver.
