Creative Labs Launches Portable Presentation Device

- Sub £150 Palm-Sized Device Enables Projection of Presentations from PC to TV; Also Records Information to Video Tape -

30th March, 1995 - Creative Labs - the world leader in bringing multimedia functionality to PCs, today announced TV Coder(tm) External, a PC to TV conversion device. Creative will market the product to the growing number of on-the-road presenters wanting to use their notebooks for delivering presentations.

The TV Coder(tm) External enables users to deliver presentations from a PC or notebook computer to virtually any video display device, including a television, projector or VCR. The product is portable, easy to use and has a suggested retail price of £150.

"The take up of mobile presenting has been hindered by the hassle of delivering to audiences at varied sites," said Liz Parratt, Creative's video products marketing manager. "Most companies don't have expensive PC presentation equipment and hiring from a specialist is rarely justified for one- off meetings. TV Coder not only turns a host of standard equipment into a presentation medium, it also enables distribution of PC presentations on VHS format - a very practical way of distributing content-rich marketing collateral."

Features of TV Coder External
TV Coder External provides multiple video output connections, including composite video, S-Video and RGB output for projection, and is compatible with virtually all SVGA cards. It features output of up to 16.7 million colours at 640x480 in NTSC and PAL modes and up to 64K colours at 800x600 in PAL mode. The product includes simultaneous output of both VGA and video timings, and a built-in filter for a flicker free, easy to read output display.

The user can adjust brightness, contrast and colour for optimal viewing conditions. In addition, TV Coder External supports both Microsoft Windows and DOS interfaces, and is compatible with any PC.
