  ³ * This readme file is used to provide the information for
      installation, Enable/Disable FIR Setting.


    The VIA FIR Device Driver is used to fast infrared transfers
    between two fast infrared enabled devices at the speed of 
    SIR(9600bps,19200bps, 38.4kbps,57.6kbps,115.2kbps),MIR(1.152Mbps)
    and FIR(4Mbps).


    *************************
    ** Driver Installation **
    *************************

    Use Device Manager to install FIR driver.

    1. Enable FIR option in BIOS . The Windows will show unknow PnP 
       device.
    2. The Windows will search the PNP device in your system.
       To continue, click "Next".
    3. Choose the "VIA Fast Infrared Controller" in the device list,
       click "Next".
    4. The next dialog, click "Finish". Then the "VIA Fast Infrared
       Controller Properties" will show up.
    5. Click the "Reinstall Driver" Button.
    6. Then it will pop up a 'Update Device Driver Wizard' dialog,
       click "Next".
    7. Next dialog, Choose "Search for a better driver...." option,
       click "Next".
    8. The Next Dialog, "Specify a location",
       for example, [CD-ROM]:\Driver\VIA\FIR\Win98, 
       this is where the driver located. When ready, click "Next".
    9. The Windows will show the device "VIA Fast Infrared Controller",
       and the .inf file location.
       Put your Windows 98 CD into the cdrom. Click "Next".
   10. Windows will copy file from diskette and CD into harddisk.
   11. Click "Finish" and restart the computer.

    ** Driver Uninstallation **
    ***************************

    Uninstall "VIA FIR  device driver" driver

    1. Start device manager.
    2. Select "VIA Fast Infrared Controller" and then right click on
       "VIA Fast Infrared Controller"
    3. Select "Delete"
